My drive to work is 30 miles (48 km) one way. It's too long and wears on me but I have a good job at one end of the road and a very good man at the other. I try to make the best of it.
My usual route is closed for the summer for bridge repair. The detour is making me see my neighborhood with new eyes.

The clouds have been beautiful this week

At least your 30 minute drive is beautiful country side Jain, not to mention your bankside home to greet you!
That is a beautiful route! Pity it is too far to cycle. I cycle to work each day, 8 km each way through the boring city. Wouldn't mind it so much with views like that!
I can empathise, Jain. When my mother was dying, I moved into their cottage and took a job 62 km from their home.
It drained me, despite the drive past lakes and forests being glorious. Good for you for celebrating the world around you.
