Four Trees

Hackberry, Black Walnut, and Ohio Buckeye
Sometimes the light catches these just right and the differences in the bark really stand out.

We have butternuts!

Alas, they're hanging 6 feet out over the pond. I'll have a net on a pole at the ready in a few weeks.

I like that photo of the tree bark. It was nice of them to stand close and so still for you.
Several of the blogs I always read disappeared from my dashboard. I just thought you had quit writing. I have found some of you again. I really missed you and your writing/photos.

Nellie, I'm glad you like the tree bark. Those colors and textures slay me every time they're lit just right. I'm glad you found me again - if you hadn't, I would have made my way back to your wonderful place.
