February 15, 2009

A Red-winged Blackbird came to the feeder on Wednesday and a kettle of Turkey Vultures flew overhead just to the south on Friday. It seems early. A flock of blackbirds across the river "con-ker-REEE'ed" as I snapped the weekly photo.

The big thaw brought the river level up quite a bit - our road was under water and closed to the south - but there was never a threat of flooding here.

An advantage of high water is that riverbank creatures are forced to the high bank--in the yard where we can see them--like this Mink.

Thank you! Digital cameras are such a luxury - 12 (or more) get deleted for every one that gets posted!
