It's so warm, flowers are blooming so fast, that I'd better post in a hurry before they're gone.
Virginia Bluebells
If I live to be 100, I'll never get over these colors.
The scent of Juneberry flowers fills the air.
Bonus point: Find the critter in this picture.
Double bonus points: Identify him or her.

I see him!! It looks like it could be a spruce beetle, but I don't know if you have them in Ohio.
Nicole, I hereby award a point for venturing a guess! Looks like the spruce beetle doesn't venture into Ohio, but heck, with critters artificially moved around as much as they are, anything's possible!
I've been out wildflowering and taking photos all day. Rain moving in tonight, and cold. Boy, the blooms are comin' on fast.
Got the critter…and I say assassin bug. I think I see a hint of color on the tip of the antennae. (Could be my imagination. )
Griz, I'm ready for some cold. Mid-80's in early April just ain't right.
I don't have a clue what the bug is, didn't see it till I "developed" the photo, so one guess is as good as the next!
Oh, jeeze…guess that means I don't win the stuffed teddy bear. :-D
Hey, I'm with you on too hot too soon. Low-70s suited me fine. I just hope this is a harbinger of one of those sweltering summers that makes you want to move to Mississippi to cool off! I am a creature of boreal nature!
Yeah, low-70s is my upper limit, then I get... frankly... bitchy.
Ah, to stick my feet in Lake Superior and leave 'em there! I talked to a friend in the UP today. She said ice has been off the Lake for a while now and she's looking forward to swimming in its clear water this summer. Sounds like it will be a scorcher all over.
I missed your last post for some reason, Jain. I loved your two Bloodroot photos you posted. Today I see the bug, that's hiding from you. I wonder what it was. The Virginia Bluebells are nice, I don't think we have any here!
...Wanda
I have a little piece of land right on Lake Superior. But I'll tell you what, that's a cold lake for swimming in mid-August, even for this semi-polar bear! Your friend must be one tough cookie! (Or I'm a wuss?)
Lovely flowers and snaps Jain.....
I'd go with Grizz--an assassin bug or a stinkbug.
The Juneberry flowers lasted one day here. I think they're usually pretty ephemeral, but one day? It was 89 degrees here yesterday, and 91 the day before--the warmest first week of April on record. Bring on the cold front!
I think it's interesting that it's been warmer in your area than it has down here. But you can't complain about the beauty it inspires.
The bluebells have to be my favorite. Not that any of these are unattractive flowers, but that blue is so soft and enticing. Great shots!
I see the legs and antennae, but I suppose guessing "insect" is not quite specific enough.
Pictures of flowers blowing in the breeze must be one of my favorites, because I take plenty of them. Even on days with no apparent wind, zooming in for a close up shows the air moving enough to sway that flower.
I'm quite behind on comments due to the garden project and hope you'll forgive me...
Wanda, I've missed some posts lately, too, and intend to stop by your place to wish you a belated merry birthday right away!
Griz, um, you might be a wuss. Not every August is fit for swimming in the Superior Lake but there were a few that were the best swimming of my life. What beautiful, clean water!
Thank you, Greener!
Scott, one day for Juneberry flowers is quick, indeed! I hope they were well-pollinated that day.
Jason, thank you, I'm tickled you liked the shots. Bluebell blues and purples still slay me, I never tire of them.
Steve, ha! "Insect" was the best I could do. If I'd seen the little fella when I was snapping, I'd have gone 'round to the other side for an inspection. The experts are saying assassin or stinkbug so I'll go with those. Good to hear I'm not the only victim of Photographer's Breeze.
You are only a state away from me and have so many different flowers there. Beautiful!
