Home again

It was quite a storm, quite a week. The water has been higher before but never over such a long stretch of time as one front followed another and another.

I was out of the house for 9 days, having responsibilities at work, and then there were the closed roads, which are still closed. I checked NOAA, USGS, weather.com, and wunderground.com obsessively. O was able to make it back in, and out, and in, and took the following pictures during the low water times.

Oh my, Jain...you and Grizz have the same experience, the river approaching your deck. It's been raining here steadily today. Hope all is well.

Came across your blog and really enjoy it! We have had some pretty serious flooding in SE Ohio as well as back home in the Miami River Valley. Hope this rain quits sooner than later!

HI Jain...wow that is scary..this happens every year??
Well Iam glad your back home, and I hope your rain stops.
I do think it is coming here though, our weather is for rain for the next few days..I guess it is better than snow this time of year!!

Hi Wanda, yes, water was lapping at Grizz's deck, too, I wish he'd do an update!

Thanks, J&S, it's good to be home! (I had a blast at my sister's and niece's, though, I seriously need to socialize more often.)

Thanks for visiting, A.L., I hope the rain didn't disrupt things for you. Come back soon

Hi Grammie! Big floods aren't annual here (thank goodness!); they average about every 5 years. I wonder if climate change will make them more frequent.
I hope your rain only waters the spring flowers and doesn't cause you any trouble!
